Fresno State Routs USIU by 37 Points

Fresno State dominated the boards and U.S. International in a 99-62 nonconference men’s basketball victory at Fresno. Jervis Cole was 9 of 11 to lead Fresno State (3-3) with 26 points. The Bulldogs outrebounded USIU, 54-34, and led, 55-33, at the half.

Paul Wilson scored 24 for USIU (3-5), which lost its third in a row on the road.

Terry Norris of San Diego captured the vacant North American Boxing Federation super welterweight championship by stopping Steve Little of Redding, Pa., by technical knockout at 1:07 of the sixth round of their scheduled 12-round bout at Caesars Palace.
