A 2-year-old girl who collapsed at a day-care center was recovering at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center today after being treated for ingesting cocaine, police said.
The child, whose parents recently separated, was taken to the day-care center in central Los Angeles on Wednesday by her mother’s sister, a police spokesman said. Her father, who dropped by the center to visit her, noticed she was extremely active. A short time later, the girl went into seizure and was rushed to the hospital, where she was listed in good condition today. Police said they were still trying to determine how the toddler got the drug.
