Prices Puffed Up

BELGRADE, Yugoslavia — Millions of Yugoslavs who ease their economic woes by puffing on cigarettes will have to pay about twice as much for the privilege after hefty price rises announced Thursday.
At least 70% of Yugoslav adults smoke. The new prices--up 100% for cigarettes--make the cost of smoking a pack a day roughly equivalent to 20% of the average monthly wage, according to official statistics.
