Community College Basketball Roundup : Golden West Routs West Hills, 142-89

Dave Yamate scored 25 points on 10-of-11 shooting from the field to lead Golden West College to a 142-89 victory over West Hills Friday in a consolation semifinal of the College of the Sequoias men’s basketball tournament at Visalia.
Yamate was 5 of 5 from the 3-point line. Golden West shot 67% (52 of 78) from the field and was 9 of 14 on 3-pointers.
Kevin Anderson scored 23, Markus Muller-Stach 21, Alex Kreps 20, Carl Champion 17 and Tarif Koutrach 12 for Golden West.
In the Riverside tournament:
Fullerton 73, Grossmont 67--Darryl Griffin scored 26 points to lead Fullerton (11-2) in the fifth-place semifinal. Mike Goff and Geoff Adams each scored 11 for Fullerton.
In nonconference men’s games:
Cypress 66, Los Angeles Trade Tech 59--Andre Lamoureux scored 20 points and 9 rebounds to lead host Cypress (3-6). Vince Hizon added 14, including two 3-pointers, for Cypress.
MiraCosta 78, Saddleback 64--Keith Randolph scored 20 points to lead MiraCosta (6-6) at Saddleback. Vincent Mason scored 19 points for Saddleback (6-6).
In the Cuesta women’s tournament:
Golden West 84, Cabrillo 45--Lori Totosz scored 14 and Donna Gondringer, DeeDee Steigar, Stacy Johnson and Stephanie Swanson each scored 12 for Golden West.
Orange Coast 59, Cuesta 34--Kim Ellerman scored 17 points and Patti Leuta 11 for OCC (5-8).
In nonconference women’s basketball:
Rancho Santiago 59, East Los Angeles 48--Vanessa Early had 26 points and 11 rebounds as host Rancho Santiago broke a 5-game losing streak. Pam Murray had 18 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists for the Dons (4-9).
Citrus 70, Cypress 51--Vicky Silva scored 23 and Becky Wayland 20 for host Cypress (6-8).
