‘End of the World’

Having had the pleasure and opportunity to watch the Alternative Repertory Theatre grow and develop over the past 2 years, I feel compelled to reply to Sylvie Drake’s review of their latest production, “End of the World.” (“Kopit’s ‘End of the World’ Strikes Out in Santa Ana,” Dec. 6).
I have enjoyed the professionalism and regard to detail exhibited by this gutsy and talented group.
With no prior knowledge of Kopit’s play, I found this production thoughtful and provocative. The stage, set, lighting and music added a great deal to the overall theme and enjoyment of the play.
Each cast member enhanced my enjoyment, but especially the work of Greg Atkins and Amy Larson. Amy’s portrayal of the Russian scholar in the second act was a delightful highlight.
Hopefully (Drake) will return to review future productions, as this group has much to contribute to our enjoyment of theater.
