The World : China Rail Crash Kills 46

China reported that a passenger train slammed into a bus filled with peasants in a northeastern province, killing at least 46 people. The train, bound for Beijing, collided with the bus at a crossing in Liaoning province, the New China News Agency reported. Two rail cars overturned in the crash, the news agency said. National television reported that 84 peasants heading home to Inner Mongolia were on the bus. The television report added that 67 people were injured. The collision was China’s fifth major train accident this year.
