Local News in Brief : Forum on LAX Project
- Share via
Los Angeles International Airport officials will hold a public forum Jan. 11 to discuss the long-planned development of 358 acres on the airport’s north side.
The development, which has yet to receive final approval by the Board of Airport Commissioners, is expected to include a mix of office and light industrial buildings, restaurants and hotels. LAX officials say it could take up to 15 years to complete the project, which is immediately north of the north runway system between Sepulveda Boulevard and Pershing Drive.
Planning for the project began in the 1970s after homes there were purchased by the airport. The residences were adversely impacted by aircraft noise.
The forum will start at 7 p.m. at the Proud Bird restaurant, 11022 Aviation Blvd.
