Olson Industries Losses Decline in 4th Quarter

Olson Industries, a Sherman Oaks plastics packaging company that has been hurt by higher prices for resins it uses in egg cartons, sandwich trays and other products, said its loss narrowed in the fourth quarter that ended Dec. 31 to $979,000 from $1.9 million a year earlier.
For the year, the company lost $4.1 million, compared to a loss of $7.4 million a year earlier.
Sales in the quarter rose 17% to $18.7 million. For the year, sales rose 10% to $68.8 million.
