Cultural Festival, Art Show Slated Saturday

Glendale Partners, an association of Glendale business leaders, will hold a one-day cultural festival and juried art show Saturday in an attempt to initiate an annual cultural event in the city.
Kaleidoscope ’89 will feature paintings, drawings, sculpture, photographs and prints by about 40 artists drawn from competition throughout Southern California. They will be on display from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the Allstate Plaza, 801 N. Brand Blvd.
Musical groups from the Glendale area will perform throughout the day on the following schedule:
Glendale College Chamber Chorale women’s chorus, 10 a.m.; Les Tableaux oboe and string quartet, 11 a.m.; PRoDRoMeS Ensemble woodwind quintet, noon; La Canada Brass Quintet, 1 p.m.; Sweet Adelines “Accents in Harmony,” 2 p.m.; the Glendale String Quartet, 3 p.m.; the Harmonic Institution barbershop quartet of Crescenta Valley High School, 4 p.m., and Glendale Assistant City Atty. Dennis H. Schuck, classical guitar, 5 p.m.
Admission is free.
