A U.S. bankruptcy court judge has denied a request by Allegheny International to extend for six weeks its exclusive right to plan its reorganization under Chapter 11 bankruptcy laws . . . American Airlines said it will begin non-stop service from Long Beach to San Jose with three daily flights from each city beginning on July 1. The carrier also said it will discontinue its Sacramento-Orange County and Oakland-Ontario service . . . Times Mirror Co.’s senior debt rating has been raised to AA-minus from A-plus, and its commercial paper’s rating has been raised to A1-plus from A1 by Standard & Poor’s. Times Mirror is the parent of The Times. . . . Lomas Financial agreed to sell its Lomas Bankers credit card unit for $500 million to an investor group led by Merrill Lynch Capital Partners.
