Driver Killed When Car Rams Power Pole

A car veered off Topham Street west of Melvin Avenue in Tarzana Wednesday morning and struck a power pole, killing the driver, the Los Angeles Police Department reported. The man, whose name was withheld until relatives could be notified, died at the scene of the 5:45 a.m. accident, said Officer Frank Zdroy.
