Garden Grove : Woman Shot in Chest During Argument

A Garden Grove woman was in stable condition Wednesday after her husband allegedly shot her during an argument.
Phuong Thi Nguyen, 44, was taken to Fountain Valley Regional Hospital and Medical Center with a single gunshot wound to the chest, police said.
Her husband, Van The Nguyen, 58, was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
Neighbors reported hearing shots in the couple’s apartment in the 13000 block of Newland Street about 6 p.m. Tuesday, Garden Grove Police Lt. Ron Weigand said.
The victim met officers outside the building and told them that her husband had shot her. He was arrested inside the apartment and offered no resistance, Weigand said.
Weigand had no details on why the couple were arguing.
