The California senior all-stars dropped their third game of the Pepsi Cola Sunbelt Classic, losing 7-4 to the Oklahoma all-stars Saturday night at Oral Roberts University in Tulsa.
Jeff Ennis of Edmond, Okla., pitched a complete-game four-hitter and California committed five errors.
Saturday afternoon, Pete Janicki of El Dorado High School was the losing pitcher for the California team in a 5-2 loss to the Florida all-stars.
Janicki lasted three innings, giving up all five runs--three of them earned--five hits, one walk and a wild pitch. He struck out five.
El Dorado teammate Phil Nevin, a Times’ all-county selection, singled in three at-bats. Nevin was two for three in that game with two RBIs. Robert Ickes of Mater Dei singled in two at-bats.
