THE SIDELINES : Retton to Wed Ex-Tex. Quarterback

AUSTIN, Tex. — Gymnast Mary Lou Retton, an Olympic gold medal winner, and former Texas quarterback Shannon Kelley are engaged to be married.
Kelley said the two have been engaged since February.
“Right now I’ve got 12 hours left this summer to graduate. I want to graduate and have a job before we get married,” Kelley said. “We’ll probably get married next spring or summer.”
Retton won a gold medal in the all-around competition at the 1984 Olympics at Los Angeles. Kelley finished his eligibility with the Longhorns football team last season. The two have been dating on and off for more than three years, Kelley said.
