UC Irvine Hires Murphy, Carr as Assistant Coaches

UC Irvine has hired Ernie Carr and Tim Murphy as assistant basketball coaches.
Carr was interim coach at Saddleback College last season and a part-time assistant coach at UCLA in 1987-88. He was basketball coach at Dominguez High School for 12 years, with a record of 195-102.
Murphy is returning to Irvine after being an assistant coach at Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Wash., last year. He was an assistant at Irvine for three years before leaving.
