Woodland Hills West Wins District 20 Title

Woodland Hills West captured the American Legion District 20 baseball title Sunday with a 12-11 victory over Panorama City in 10 innings at Birmingham High.
West (23-3) advances to the 6th Area playoffs, a six-team, double-elimination tournament that opens Thursday at Birmingham.
Keyed by a two-run single by Del Marine and a critical error by Panorama City right fielder John Langley, West scored five times in the top of the 10th inning to break a 7-7 tie.
Ryan McGuire (3-0) earned the victory for West despite allowing four earned runs in the 10th.
