A 32-year-old man was killed Sunday in East San Diego and a woman was wounded during the same shooting when she was struck by a bullet that went through her apartment window, police reported.
Donald M. Johnson of Rancho Penasquitos was found slumped against the steering wheel of his car at 12:50 a.m. in the 3500 block of 43rd Street, according to the San Diego police. Johnson, who was shot in the head, was pronounced dead at 1:39 a.m at Mercy Hospital, said Charles Kelley of the coroner’s office.
Michelle Grimes, 37, was wounded in the shoulder during the shooting when a bullet went through a window in her nearby apartment, said Sgt. Tim Smith of the San Diego Police Department. Grimes was listed in fair condition Sunday afternoon at UCSD Medical Center.
Police have no suspect or motive in the shootings, Smith said.
