Semtech Revenue Up 7%, but Earnings Drop 37%

Semtech, a Newbury Park maker of semiconductors and other electronic products, said its fiscal second-quarter earnings fell 37% from a year earlier despite a 7% increase in revenue.
In the quarter that ended July 30, Semtech’s net income fell to $332,000 from $525,000, while its revenue climbed to $5.05 million from $4.71 million.
For the first half of its fiscal year, Semtech’s earnings were off 50%, to $579,000 from $1.16 million a year earlier. Its six-month revenue slipped to $9.68 million from $9.70 million.
