Golden West Falls in Soccer, 2-1

Golden West College lost to El Camino, 2-1, in the consolation match of the Golden West soccer tournament Sunday.
Santa Rosa (4-0-1) defeated Skagit Valley (4-2) for the championship on a sudden-death goal by Dan Hylok.
Golden West (0-5) was down, 2-0, when Eric Figler scored with 16 minutes left to play. Clinton Orson had 16 saves for Golden West.
At the Mira Costa soccer tournament:
American River 3, Fullerton 1--Louis Panduro scored with 37 minutes left in the first half to pull Fullerton (4-1-1) to within a goal at 2-1, but American River hung on for the victory.
In nonconference volleyball:
Golden West 3, Hancock 0--Middle blocker Jody Crider had eight kills to lead visiting Golden West (1-2) to a 15-2, 15-4, 15-0 victory.
