Laurent Fignon, French cycling star who finished second to Greg LeMond in the Tour de France this year, allegedly used a banned stimulant in a Dutch cycling event last month.
Francois Alaphilippe, president of the French Cycling Federation, confirmed that Fignon had tested positive for amphetamines after the Grand Prix de la Liberation in Eindhoven Sept. 17.
If Fignon is found guilty, he could face a monthlong suspension and a fine of up to $600.
