SADDLEBACK/SOUTH BEACH : SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO : Poster Contest to Focus on Heritage
- Share via
Fifth-graders from the city’s public and private grammar schools are invited to enter a poster contest focusing on the heritage of this 213-year-old community built around a historic mission.
Posters must be submitted on 12-by-18 white drawing paper, and must be drawn vertically on the page. Pencil, chalk, charcoal, paint or any medium may be used.
Judging will be based on composition, color and, mostly, on how well the poster illustrates the history of San Juan Capistrano, organizers said.
The contest is sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce Education Committee. Prizes include a $100 U.S. Savings Bond for first place and eight $50 savings bonds for second-place finishers. Entries will be displayed in March, during the weeklong springtime festival celebrating the return of the swallows. Call (714) 493-4700 for more information.
