Westlake 34, Simi Valley 7--Quarterback Todd Preston threw three touchdown passes to Seamus Gibbons for the Warriors at Simi Valley. Preston and Gibbons connected on scores of 62, 25 and 48 yards as Westlake (2-4-1, 2-1-1) scored 27 second-half points to break open a close game.
With 1:06 remaining in the first half, Preston threw a 62-yard scoring pass to Gibbons to snap a scoreless tie. Simi Valley (0-7, 0-3) tied the score when quarterback Aaron Fisher raced 56 yards in the third quarter.
After a Simi Valley turnover--one of five for the Pioneers--Preston and Gibbons connected for scores on consecutive possessions. Simi Valley has lost 17 consecutive games.
