ABC offers a free catalogue with a broad range of merchandise that carries the network logo (lycra biker shorts, hats, umbrellas, duffel bags, wind breakers, T-shirts, sweats, watches and football jackets with leather sleeves). Call (800) 872-8893. Also available are T-shirts or sweat shirts for specific programs, such as “The Wonder Years.” ABC Sports has a separate catalogue, available by calling (800) 356-4289. NBC, considered the pioneer in network fashion, sells logo wear in gift shops open to the public at the network’s Burbank and New York studios. Special items include “Late Night With David Letterman” T-shirts. Store merchandise is also available by catalogue, call (800) 622-1844. CBS active wear bears the CBS eye or CBS Sports logo and is carried by the retail store at the network’s L.A. studio. The 300 or so choices range from key chains and sunglasses to ski jackets and sweat pants. Some store items promote such CBS series as “Knots Landing” and “Murder, She Wrote.” No catalogue shopping is available at this time, but will be later this fall. Fox does not sell Fox Broadcasting apparel to the public, but only to employees and to affiliates. However, some licensed products for Fox network television shows are available through department stores. Among the options are T-shirts for such programs as “The Tracey Ullman Show,” “Married . . . With Children,” and even “America’s Most Wanted.” CNN, TBS, TNT and Headline News: The Turner Store, located at the CNN Center in Atlanta, sells a wide assortment of clothing and other merchandise that bears logos for Ted Turner’s four cable television networks.
