NATION : Jim Bakker Moved to Minnesota

ROCHESTER, Minn. — Convicted swindler Jim Bakker today received his expected transfer from a federal prison in Alabama to one in Minnesota to serve his time for defrauding followers of his PTL television ministry, officials said.
He arrived at the prison system’s Federal Medical Center here at about 11:45 a.m. after being transferred from the Federal Correctional Institution at Talladega, Ala.
Bakker, 49, was sentenced Oct. 24 by a federal judge in Charlotte, N.C., to 45 years in prison and fined $500,000.
