Ami Porat’s Mozart Camerata netted $30,000 in new pledges and 30 new subscribers--for a total of 780--at a fund-raising event for donors Saturday at the Center Club in Costa Mesa. Porat said that the chamber orchestra now has a total of $80,000 in pledges for the season. The event, a buffet luncheon and a fashion show sponsored by Neiman-Marcus Co. of Newport Beach, was the first of five planned for the year.
The Camerata opens its season at 8 p.m. on Saturday at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, 600 St. Andrews Road, in Newport Beach. Information: (714) 634-8276.
