The City Council has voted to contribute $3,675 to the Airport Site Coalition for its study of possible sites for a new county airport.
Yorba Linda is joining other county cities in helping to pay for the study.
Representatives of the coalition, which was selected by the Federal Aviation Administration and the Southern California Assn. of Governments to perform the study, said the group will need almost $300,000 to complete the project, in addition to $378,604 already allotted by the FAA.
Mayor Henry W. Wedaa said it is in the city’s best interests to contribute to the study, which he said is near completion.
