BUENA PARK — Police are seeking witnesses to a bicycle accident in Buena Park involving a 17-year-old boy who hit a tree--and who may have been forced off the road by a car.
Eric Kim of Buena Park was in critical but stable condition, complaining of head and neck injuries after the accident at La Palma Avenue and El Monte Drive, a police spokeswoman said Saturday.
The spokeswoman said Kim told police that he was riding his bike to the library about 11:30 a.m. Friday when a car came at him and he hit the tree.
Buena Park police said they would like anyone who may have seen the accident to call the department. In particular, they are interested in talking with a woman who phoned the police 911 emergency hot line to report the accident but was not at the scene when officers and paramedics arrived.
