Nordstrom: The Seattle-based retailer said third-quarter net income rose 10% to $21.9 million, while sales advanced 18% to $572.4 million. Nordstrom said earnings for the quarter were reduced as a result of the Bay Area Quake. Costs and expenses that have been identified directly with the earthquake amounted to $1.3 million. In addition, sales in all Northern California stores after the earthquake were significantly below normal.
