Record Number of Oscar Foreign Films: The largest number of entries for the best foreign-language film award since the category was established in 1956 have been received for the 62nd annual Academy Awards, Oscar officials said. In all, 37 countries submitted foreign entries, which are also eligible to compete in other Oscar categories provided they meet the requirements. The Oscars ceremonies will be telecast live on ABC from the Music Center on March 26.
