Landis Will Direct Comedy Series: John Landis, who has directed such films as “National Lampoon’s Animal House,” “Coming to America” and “Trading Places,” will direct the new HBO comedy series “Dream On” starring Brian Benben. The show, expected to debut on the cable channel in mid-1990, features Benben in the role of Martin Tupper, a New York divorcee who views much of his life through the images of old TV movies and series. The series will focus on Tupper’s relationship with his 10-year-old son.
