NEW YORK — CBS plans to have an emergency generator at Candlestick Park in San Francisco for Saturday’s game between the 49ers and the Minnesota Vikings just in case there is another earthquake.
A deadly 7.1 earthquake rocked the San Francisco Bay Area on Oct. 17, 31 minutes before the scheduled start of Game 3 of the World Series in Candlestick. ABC, which was broadcasting the baseball game, was knocked off the air and needed to borrow a generator from ESPN.
