Las Vegas Defeats San Jose for 18th Time in Row, 100-80

SAN JOSE — David Butler scored all 19 of his points in the second half as 10th-ranked Nevada Las Vegas maintained its perfect record against San Jose State with a 100-80 victory Saturday in a Big West Conference game.
Larry Johnson had 16 points and 15 rebounds, Greg Anthony scored 13 points, Moses Scurry had 12 and Stacey Augmon 10 as the Rebels, 9-2 overall and 4-0 in the Big West, beat the Spartans for the 18th time in as many tries.
UNLV is 6-0 since the return of Butler and Scurry from academic probation on Dec. 23.
Ken Young scored 23 points for San Jose (4-8, 1-2).
Scurry scored 11 points in the first half as UNLV opened a 45-35 lead. Butler, who made eight of 10 shots, scored 11 points in the first six minutes of the second half.
