Long Beach Women Win Easily, 74-53

Leading only 37-31 at halftime, ninth-ranked Cal State Long Beach outscored San Diego State, 20-7, over the first eight minutes of the second half and went on to easily defeat the Aztecs, 74-53, Saturday in a Big West Conference women’s basketball game at San Diego.
The 49ers shot only 42% from the field, but San Diego State shot just 37%, including 25% in the second half. After the 49er run, the Aztecs never got closer than 14 points the rest of the game.
Dana Wilkerson led Long Beach (8-3 overall, 1-1 in conference) with 19 points. Julie Evans scored 18 points for the Aztecs (1-11, 0-1).
