4 Infantrymen Killed in Crash of Helicopter

FT. IRWIN — Four soldiers died in a helicopter crash in the San Bernardino County desert, authorities said. The soldiers were killed when their UH-60 Blackhawk helicopter crashed near Ft. Irwin, about 40 miles north of Barstow, an Army spokesman said. The soldiers, members of the mechanized 4th Battalion, 1st Infantry Division from Fort Riley, Kan., were participating in a routine training exercise.
