P.M. BRIEFING : S&L; Probe Includes Bush’s Son

WASHINGTON — Savings and loan regulators who penalized two directors of a bankrupt Colorado savings institution are leaving open the possibility of sanctions against other former officers, including President Bush’s son.
Enforcement officials from the Office of Thrift Supervision met Monday with Bush’s son, Neil, who served on the board of Silverado Banking, Savings & Loan Assn. from 1985 until August, 1988, thrift office spokesman William Fulwider said today.
“He’s been here . . . as have other associates of Silverado,” Fulwider said.
The Houston Post said in today’s editions that Bush met with thrift office enforcement director Rosemary Stewart for four hours.
