Tim Witherspoon, a two-time former heavyweight champion, knocked down Jeff Sims in the first round, then beat him up until the referee stepped in after five rounds to end the heavyweight fight in Atlantic City, N.J. It was the sixth victory in a row for the 32-year-old Witherspoon, who improved to 31-3.
In another heavyweight bout, Tyrell Biggs improved to 17-3 with a 10-round decision over Ossie Ocasio.
