BREA : ‘Spotlight on Youth’ to Be City’s Theme

Mayor Carrey J. Nelson has announced “Spotlight on Youth” as the city’s theme of the year.
“I’ve always had a soft spot in my heart for young people,” Nelson said. “We need to acknowledge the diversity of their achievement.”
Nelson, who has seven children and nine grandchildren, said the city will be recognizing youths for their uniqueness at each council meeting.
At the beginning of each session, the lights will be dimmed and a spotlight will shine on the week’s recipient, he said.
