A 23-year-old Pacoima man was killed and his female passenger wounded early Saturday as they drove west on Van Nuys Boulevard in Van Nuys, police said.
The driver, whose name was not released pending notification of his family, was shot just after midnight near Oxnard Street and Van Nuys Boulevard, said Los Angeles police Officer Andy Malhasian.
The man was pronounced dead about 12:20 a.m. after he was taken to Valley Hospital Medical Center with multiple wounds, said Dave Campbell, a supervising investigator with the Los Angeles coroner’s office.
An autopsy was scheduled.
