Sales to Start This Year in Chino Hills

Sales will begin early this year on the final two new home neighborhoods to be developed in the 481-acre Gordon Ranch Anden Group community in the Chino Hills area of San Bernardino County.

The developments--Costain Knolls at Gordon Ranch and Seville by Pacific Gateway Homes at Gordon Ranch--are being developed on land purchased jointly by Costain Homes of Newport Beach and Pacific Gateway Homes of Irvine.

Costain Knolls, with a late-February sales start planned, will have 160 two-story houses, with 1,805 to 2,144 square feet, priced from about $260,000 to $290,000. An April sales start is planned for Seville, which will have 113 detached houses with 1,535 to 1,868 square feet, priced from about $230,000 to about $260,000.

Barratt Buys 123 Lots for Quartz Hill Homes

Barratt American Inc. has purchased 123 single-family lots at Avenue L8 and 65th Street West in the Quartz Hill area of Lancaster. Knowles-Avery Land Co. represented Barratt and the seller, Korda Homes, Los Angeles, in the $4.92-million transaction.

A tract map has been approved for 55 of the lots and the Newport Beach-based Barratt American plans to build immediately on the 7,000-square-foot lots.

Palisades Highlands Lots Sold to 6 Builders

Westgroup Partners, through its land development unit Headland Properties, has sold 215 single-family and townhouse lots, valued at $106 million, in The Summit at Palisades Highlands to six builders.

The buyers in the 313-unit planned community in the Santa Monica Mountains are Carlan Homes, Tustin, 53 single-family lots; Anden/RWR, Covina and Van Nuys, 56 townhouse lots; Dividend Development, Newport Beach, 47 townhouse lots; HSM Group, Santa Monica, 23 single-family lots; Southland Equities, Reseda, 20 single-family lots, and Lexington Financial, West Los Angeles, 16 custom home lots.

In addition, Headland Properties has sold seven of 21 estate-sized lots to individuals at prices ranging from $875,000 to $2.85 million. Headland is the master developer of Palisades Highlands, which will have 1,700 houses upon completion.
