9 ‘Boat People’ Bodies Found Off Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia — Nine more decomposed bodies of Vietnamese “boat people” were found off the coast of Malaysia on Sunday, bringing the total found in the last two days to 23, police said.
They were believed to have drowned after their boat sank in rough waters off the Trengganu coast, the Malaysian National News Agency reported from Kuala Trengganu, the capital of Trengganu state. It quoted police and hospital sources.
Fourteen bodies were found Saturday along the coast, 180 miles northeast of Kuala Lumpur.
