Yugoslavia’s Veronika Sarec, who last week failed to finish in two races, gained her first World Cup victory in the women’s slalom at Haus Im Ennstal, Austria.
Sarec had a time of 1 minute 31.22 seconds for the two runs.
The surprise of the second run was the failure of Switzerland’s Vreni Schneider to finish.
Schneider fell for the first time since she tumbled in a race in Piancavallo, Italy, in December, 1987.
