Chase Manhattan Corp.: The parent of Chase Manhattan Bank posted a loss of $665 million for fiscal 1989 after adding $1.3 billion to loan-loss reserves. The New York company earned $1.06 billion in fiscal 1988. It received virtually no interest income from Brazil in the quarter that ended Dec. 31; net income for the fourth period was $175 million, down 36% from the 1988 period.
