BOYS’ BASKETBALL ROUNDUP : Cole Scores 22 to Lead Orange Lutheran Win

Senior forward Daryl Cole scored 22 points, including nine in the fourth quarter, to help Orange Lutheran High School to a 76-62 victory over Capistrano Valley Christian Tuesday in an Olympic League boys’ basketball game at Orange Lutheran.
The score was tied, 34-34, at the half and Orange Lutheran led, 55-54, after three quarters. Orange Lutheran is 9-8 overall and 3-3 in league play.
Whittier Christian 54, Brethren 31--Ruben Oronoz scored 16 and Dan Long 12 for visiting Whittier Christian (9-7, 5-1).
In Academy League boys’ basketball:
St. Margaret’s 68, St. Michael’s 45--Ryan Westendorf had 28 points and 23 rebounds to lead the Tartans (10-4, 3-0) at the Crown Valley YMCA.
Cal Lutheran 60, Newport Christian 58--Rob Hasty scored 21 points, including 19 in the second half, to lead visiting Cal Lutheran (6-5, 2-1). Hasty, who scored 14 points in the third quarter, also blocked a shot as the game ended.
