NEW YORK — The sun won’t come out tomorrow for “Annie.”
“Annie 2,” the new $7-million musical, closed Saturday in Washington and its producers decided not to open it March 1 on Broadway as previously planned.
The producers shifted gears, saying that a revival of “Annie,” the 1977 musical hit, would open on Broadway instead and that “Annie 2” would go to the Goodspeed Opera House in East Haddam, Conn., during the summer for performances and revisions.
But on Wednesday, David Powers, spokesman for “Annie 2,” said the proposed revival of “Annie” has been scrapped.
