Ten people were arrested and more than $1.3 million in cash seized in an undercover narcotics investigation of an organization that allegedly sold cocaine throughout the South Bay, police in Torrance and Redondo Beach said Wednesday.
Police arrested three of the suspects Tuesday night after seeing them transfer $600,000 in cash from one car to another at an undisclosed location, said Sgt. Ron Traber of the Torrance Police Department. Investigators Wednesday recovered an unspecified amount of a substance believed to be cocaine and additional cash at several locations where the other suspects were arrested, including Los Angeles, Orange and Riverside counties, Traber said.
The suspects, four women and six men whom police said were from Colombia and Mexico, were booked Wednesday in Torrance on suspicion of a variety of charges including conspiracy and money laundering, police said.
