Fairfax : Repaving on Fairfax Ave.
The commercial stretch of Fairfax Avenue between 3rd Street and Melrose Avenue is in for at least two months of traffic tie-ups because of street work.
Workers repaving the avenue have cut the flow of traffic to one lane in each direction during daylight hours, but parking lanes should be available in the evenings and on weekends, a city official said.
The street was last repaved “about 20 or 30 years ago,” said Adina Solomon, a field deputy for City Councilman Zev Yaroslavsky.
