Procter & Gamble Co.: The Cincinnati consumer products firm said second-quarter earnings rose by 8% to $350 million. Revenue advanced 14% to $6.02 billion. The earnings included a $91-million gain from the previously announced sale of its Crush soft drink business and a $174-million charge to form a reserve to finish consolidating some worldwide manufacturing operations.
