A USC graduate student was shot and wounded a half-block from his campus-owned apartment, authorities said Thursday morning.
The unidentified student of business administration, who had been walking Wednesday night near the Terrace Apartments in the 2900 block of Orchard Street in Los Angeles, was hit in the right calf when an unknown gunman fired several shots, campus Department of Security Services Chief Steven Ward said.
The gunman ran away, and no suspect has been arrested in the 10:19 p.m. incident, Ward said. The student ran to his apartment building and sought help from campus police stationed there. The student was in stable condition at Hollywood Presbyterian Hospital, Ward said.
