Lopez Faces Gonzalez in Title Fight at Irvine

IRVINE — Ben Lopez faces Vicente Gonzalez for the vacant state super featherweight title tonight in the main event of the monthly boxing program at the Irvine Marriott Hotel.
Lopez, of Ontario, has a record of 14-4 and won his last bout in Irvine with a second-round knockout of Armando Barez. Gonzalez, of Los Angeles, is 15-5. This the first time he has fought at Irvine.
The first of five scheduled bouts starts at 7:30 p.m. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. in the hotel ballroom.
