COMMUNITY COLLEGE WOMEN’S BASKETBALL ROUNDUP : Jackson Scores 40 to Lead Golden West Past Fullerton

Forward Claudette Jackson scored 40 points to lead the Golden West College women’s basketball team to a 110-80 victory over Fullerton in the Orange Empire Conference women’s basketball regular-season final Friday at Golden West.

Donna Gondringer added 36 for Golden West, the top-ranked team in the state, which won its 12th in a row. Golden West (31-1, 12-0) led, 54-42, at the half.

Orange Coast 95, Saddleback 54--Kami Bigler scored 21 points and had seven rebounds as Orange Coast set a single-season record for victories. Cindy Kollar added 18 points and 10 rebounds for OCC (26-5, 10-2). Shannon Garnos scored 16 points for Saddleback (13-16, 4-8).

Rancho Santiago 56, Cypress 30--Sophomore center Carolyn Burns scored 23 points and had 17 points to lead Rancho Santiago (8-15, 3-9). Charisse Simon had 12 points and Barbara Olson had 11 for Rancho Santiago. Tami Bartley scored 16 points for Cypress (0-26, 0-12).
